Design

After a decade of designing, building & redesigning, Pilates Apparatus, what we have settled on is that all of the pieces ship broken down, most in a cardboard tube 8” in diameter. Shipping can be almost as expensive as the pieces themselves and often have to be done by specialty freight services. It is our intention that all the pieces can ship via UPS. The savings on shipping is substantial, not to mention environmental impact. What this means is we are expecting you to assemble it. Every effort has been made to simplify this process. Most of the Apparatus only needs a single Allen Wrench (included). There is a time lapse video above of the assembly, in real time it took me 14 minutes start to finish, it might take you 20 or 30. But! Once you have done this, you will realize that you as an individual, can break down your Studio, fit it in the back of a pickup truck, van, even maybe a sedan and move it to a new location! Another element of design is the material choices. The materials and design are utilitarian in nature, no vanities, they are an effort to be affordable and sturdy.

Fabrication

Every effort of the Design was to make Fabrication efficient and affordable. The integration between the two is paramount. Our responsibility is to both the people manufacturing these pieces and the customer purchasing them. Our production facility, and process is designed with the same care and awareness to the body and movement as any Instructor would have for a Client.

Service

Service should at the minimum mean transparency! An open and sincere dialogue. We look to provide clear information and instructions for our customers, and timely responses when problems arise. It is an enormous Blessing to have the opportunity to serve this Pilates Community, and to maybe reach a larger audience. It is not taken for granted. What we are doing, what we are making, and what we are asking of you all is something that is different then what has gone before us. That is a step of Faith we all at UPM are willing to take.
